The Epiphone Elitist Les Pauls were introduced in 2003 as top-of-the-line Epiphone Les Pauls that would fill the gap between regular Asian-built Epiphones and American-made Gibsons.
They are distinguished from regular Epiphones by their hand-rubbed Polyurethane finishes (as opposed to Polyester), Gibson designed and made pickups, solid Maple tops, African Mahogany bodies, higher-quality electronics, German silver pickup covers finished in Nickel or 24K gold, real Abalone and Mother of Pearl inlays, and Bone nuts & saddles.

Variations
The Epiphone Elitist Les Paul came in four basic variations: Les Paul Studio, Les Paul Standard, Les Paul Custom, and Les Paul '57 Goldtop. There are also artist signature models which include the Elitist Tak Matsumoto Les Paul and Elitist Twisted Sister Les Paul.
Les Paul Studio
The Epiphone Elitist Les Paul Studio features:

Les Paul Standard
