History

Originally introduced in 1995 as a step down from the Les Paul Standard, the Les Paul Studio Standard has undergone some significant changes in it's lifetime.

In 1996, the Studio Standard got "trapezoid" fingerboard inlays and the "Les Paul" script printed on the headstock.

Redesigned and renamed "Les Paul Studio" in 1998, the guitar lost it's body and neck binding but gained chrome pickup covers, "trapezoid" fretboard inlays, and the "Les Paul" script on the headstock.

Redesigned again in 2004, the Les Paul Studio lost it's pickup covers and "trapezoid" fretboard inlays but gained a thicker, more traditional Les Paul body (it was previously slimmer like the Les Paul-100).

In 2009, Epiphone introduced a limited edition Les Paul Studio Deluxe with the same features as the 1998-2003 Les Paul Studio with the exception of Alnico Classic Plus humbuckers, gold hardware on guitars finished in Alpine White, and a LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece.
