In 1993, a limited run of 250 Rivieras and 250 Sheratons were produced in Gibson's Nashville factory. This was called the Nashville USA Collection. At the same time, Epiphone's Montana plant also built 250 Excellente, Texan and Frontier flat tops known as the Anniversary Series. These Epiphones were only intended as a special event, but the public reaction prompted Rosenberg to reissue many classic designs via the Korean range. Those who attended the 1994 NAMM witnessed the re-introduction of legends including the Casino, Riviera, Sorrento and Rivoli bass.

Contrary to information on Wikipedia and various other sources around the web, this line was related to, but not part of the 1994 Gibson Centennial Series commemorating 100 years of the Gibson Guitar Corporation. The Nashville and Anniversary Collections were intended as reintroductions of original, USA built Epiphone models.

In 1957, Gibson USA acquired the Epiphone Company and began producing instruments in the Kalamazoo Factory in 1959. Up until this point, Epiphone had been famous for its highly prized archtop acoustics such as the Emperor and the Broadway. However, after acquisition, Epiphone began focusing on thin-line electrics and introduced two models that were soon to become as popular - the Sheraton and Riviera.

Today, Epiphone re-introduces the Sheraton and Riviera made in Nashville, TN. Built to exact specifications of the original Epis, these instruments represent the finiest in design, materials and craftmanship.
